Financial Planning & Analysis

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

Candidate will report to the CFO and be responsible for all reporting, analysis, and forecasting activities of JTI Electrical and its subsidiaries and divisions. The role will require working across the organization, with high visibility to the executive team, leading weekly reporting, supporting monthly financial reporting, summarizing actual results relative to budgets, forecasts, and project-level bids, preparing standard and ad-hoc reporting and analysis for business leaders, sales personnel, and board of directors. The role requires strong business acumen, technical capabilities, financial reporting experience, FP&A skills, and the ability to work with large data sets.  Strong emphases will be placed on communication skills, business judgement, accountability, intellectual curiosity, positive attitude, and demonstrated work ethic.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with CFO in building financial analyses, commentaries, and presentations to support key financial and business deliverables, including presentations to ownership and board of directors

• Create and monitor operational metrics for actionable information and analysis including management tools and leveraging data to drive business performance
• Gather, consolidate, and analyze operating and financial results, including preparing internal and external reporting deliverables and analyzing and explaining trends, drivers, and budget variances of financial results and Key Performance Indicators to be used in management reviews and strategic decisions.

• Own and lead recurring weekly and monthly reporting
• Help lead the Company's financial planning and budgeting processes, including the annual multi-year planning and monthly forecasting cycles
• Play key role in job reviews, and monitor performance and progress on key projects

• Identify trends and discern root cause from large sets of data using problem solving skills
• Identify and drive initiatives to improve, automate, and scale tracking and reporting tools/systems.
• Review historical results to develop sound forecasting practices to improve accuracy and reliability of the budget.
• Prepare flexible financial models containing well-structured reporting outputs that facilitate insightful analysis and actions.
• Work with the accounting group on building revenue and expense data to inform key accounting activities
• Analyze, summarize, and present complex financial data in an organized, concise manner for use in decision-making at all levels of the organization.
• Provide thought leadership within finance function and partnership to the CFO

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

• Work closely with the CFO and other senior leaders to formulate the company's medium to long term financial and strategic plan.
• Be a key contributor by providing clear insights into drivers of business growth, risks, and opportunities.

• Manage long-term planning processes. Interface with management to collect input and combine ideas with relevant data into financial models
• Propose scenarios and run sensitivity analyses for future growth plans
• Participate in the development and maintenance of performance metrics, methods, and targets.

• Develop in-depth analysis of current and future business performance and recommend action plans, including gap closures, considerations for managing cost, growing the revenue and profitability.
• Support the company’s active M&A program with data analysis, integration support, and the creation of accurate pro forma financials
• Contextualize and visualize data-based fact patterns into digestible narratives with commercial implications on business strategy

REPORTING AND AD HOC REQUESTS

• Lead initiatives to automate financial and accounting reporting systems.
• Provide data and metrics for the tracking of critical sales and operations transformation initiatives
• Maintain and enhance our core financial reporting systems and work with the business to create tailored IT solutions that drive value.
• Proactively lead the creation of reports, dashboards, etc. that allows for timely and accurate decision making
• Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly decks and financial packages for internal leadership meetings, board of directors, and private equity sponsor
• Drive evaluation and recommendation of various tools and systems to support business improvement

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree with relevant coursework in economics, business, accounting, or finance preferred, advanced degree is a plus
• Minimum two years of corporate experience in finance, strategy, or corporate planning role
• Experience in financial modeling and financial reporting
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Ability to independently resolve complex problems where analysis requires the in-depth evaluation of numerous factors.
• Strong technical skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel); experience with business intelligence tools preferred
• Ability to communicate accounting and financial information clearly and concisely, with the ability to interact at all levels within the organization and private equity sponsor.
• Ability to analyze data from different sources to complete root cause analyses, communicate strategic and operational insights, and make commercial recommendations
• Strong accounting and corporate finance knowledge to support management with routine and ad-hoc analytical work
• Keen attention to detail as well as an ability to see “the big picture”
• Solid understanding of drivers of profitability in a project-based business, as well as keen understanding of financial statements
• Ability to prioritize work across various departments and their associated projects.
• Curiosity to explore data from different angles, problem solve and think critically through complex scenarios.
• Good business judgement with ability to use data to draw conclusions and discern business implications
• Self-starter with ownership mentality
