Jubilee College, Dunsmuir, CA, is a new, small two-year liberal arts school designed for a diverse community of young people who believe that a better world is possible and who want to reach for it with others, to create it. We seek an inaugural cohort of 10-12 Fellows for the June 2025 – June 2026 year, who will work alongside college founders and faculty to lay the groundwork for community life, and for living in a good way with and from the land. The College is rooted in physical work, rigorous liberal arts study, and contemplative practice. The first class of students will arrive in the fall of 2026.
Fellows will receive free room and board, and will live in a contemplative community to deepen the inner life of all involved. Fellows will contribute to the Jubilee College community by leading service initiatives and projects that align with their skills and talents, and will receive mentorship from College founders and their networks.

In 2024, Jubilee College purchased the historic Railroad Park Resort & Dining Car restaurant, which has been beloved locally for 56 years, and has received top reviews from both guests and critics alike. We will not only be continuing to operate the resort and restaurant, but we have intentions to greatly expand both, as a hub and center in northern California for sacred hospitality, great food, and living in ways that restore earth and community.

You'll Focus on One of These Vital Areas:
- Eating well from this landscape: regional farms & indigenous foods, procurement / relationships & purchasing, preparation/preservation, community education
- Healing the land/Ecosystem Health: protecting the water, soil remediation, natural ponds, native plants, medicine gardens, community forestry & prescribed burning
- Land Use/Planning/Building: Site & infrastructure planning and budgeting, natural building practices, research and permitting, overseeing construction
- Art/Service/Sacred hospitality: Practicing love and beauty to delight guests and inspire community; Welcoming art & music to the land for peace/joy/healing
- Facilities/maintenance/technology: energy efficiency, renewables, bear-proof waste/recycling/ composting systems, maintenance calendar, technology planning
- Education: planning/imagining yourselves in students’ shoes, informing curricula, hosting student information session weekends

The Setting:
You'll be based in Dunsmuir, a charming mountain town known for "the Best Water on Earth," nestled between Mount Shasta and Castle Crags. The 83-acre valley features spring-fed creeks, dense forests, and access to endless hiking trails, including the Pacific Crest Trail.
