EHS Manager - Fortune 500 Manufacturing Company - Portland, OR (Relocation Provided)
A renowned Fortune 500 company operating in the Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) industry is seeking an EHS Manager for their facility in Portland, OR. As the EHS Manager, you will oversee the entirety of HSE activities within either a manufacturing facility or commercial areas (offices, sales, warehouses). This includes establishing and refining standards and procedures, enhancing capability processes, facilitating reporting, ensuring compliance, and conducting audits.
Compensation: $140,000 - $165,000 17% bonus Sign On Bonus/Relocation Package. Benefits begin day 1: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 20 days PTO, 401k with 6% match, 2024 merit increase review.
Key Responsibilities:
Define and evaluate standards and regulations applicable to the site, validating the integration of HSE principles into projects and modifications.
Support the implementation of work processes, such as the Safety Pillar, to enhance the application and efficacy of HSE protocols.
Thoroughly document all pertinent internal standards and relevant legislation.
Maintain continuous compliance and manage relationships with the legal department and local authorities.
Uphold adherence to HSE regulatory requirements for the plant.
Oversee the coordinated execution of all HSE programs and procedures.
Collaborate in the development and consensus-building of annual plans for comprehensive HSE initiatives across the facility or function.
Strategically plan, budget, and control the annual capital budget allocated to HSE, enabling the execution of the HSE plan and ensuring conformity with internal and external compliance standards.
Provide specialized HSE expertise for the facility/function, particularly concerning new projects and change management endeavors.
Facilitate comprehensive risk assessments and implement corrective measures to mitigate or eliminate potential accidents or asset losses that may jeopardize the well-being of company personnel, contractors, or visitors.
Establish and maintain a talent pool through training, mentorship, and succession planning. Foster the professional development and learning capabilities of Safety specialists.
Guarantee that facility standards align with both company policies and governmental/community regulations.
Enforce a culture of safety by promoting training and coaching activities. Ensure widespread comprehension of safety standards and consciousness throughout the plant organization.
Assume responsibility for Health, Safety, and Environmental matters within the production site.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Health, Safety, and Environment Practitioner, preferably within a manufacturing or commercial setting.
Proven track record in team management, change management, and project leadership.
Exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills, adept at building relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all organizational levels.
Proficient in Health and Safety auditing processes.
Bachelor’s Degree is a requirement.
Minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience, demonstrating thought leadership in an industrial context.
Demonstrated proficiency in building functional and plant teams, fostering motivational environments.
Salary : $140,000 - $165,000
