ITSM Engineer

Primary Responsibilities:

• Service Management: Support service management processes and procedures to ensure timely incident response and coordinate with engineering teams for service restoration of critical cybersecurity services.
• Request Fulfillment: Independently fulfill requests for approved services, track all request data, ensure customer satisfaction, and monitor request status through closure.
• Incident Handling: Create incident tickets for service outages or disruptions, conduct triage, and take action to restore service where possible. Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure timely resolution of all tickets.
• Process Improvement: Work with engineering teams and the Information Systems Security Officer to enhance processes and timeliness of incident response and request fulfillment, ensuring compliance with security guidelines.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong desire to learn about cybersecurity and the engineering of tools to support cybersecurity operations.
• Basic understanding of networking, virtualization, server, and desktop maintenance.
• Ability to analyze data from multiple sources.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to understand, document, and communicate the status of requests and incident responses.
• ship with current active DOD Secret or Top-Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting Red Hat Linux and Windows systems, including server operations and maintenance.
• Experience in helpdesk support.
• Experience as an analyst or engineer in a Security Operations Center.
• Familiarity with implementing and maintaining Next Generation Firewall features (Application-aware filtering, DNS, IPS, Web filtering, SSL Inspection).
• Experience with automation tools such as Netbrain, Ansible, XSOAR, Fortimanager, Panorama.
• Experience managing SSL and IPSEC VPN clients and site-to-site VPNs.
• ZTNA experience preferred.
• Experience with Fortinet and Palo Alto products.
