Job Title: Test and Evaluation Technician
Job Description:
This position will provide test and evaluation technician support in either a lab or an aircraft production environment while working alongside production operations personnel.
Active Secret Clearance Required
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate and maintain the instrumentation system, including installing a high volume of sensors and associated wiring onto aircraft parts and assemblies per engineering requirements.
- Install and maintain various sensor types, primarily including Strain Gages and Accelerometers, as well as Thermocouples, RTDs, Pressure Transducers, etc.
- Coordinate with Instrumentation Operations Engineers and Design Build Manufacturing Engineers.
- Interpret engineering drawings, perform surface preparation, hand sanding, cleaning, and handle hazardous materials such as solvents, cleaners, adhesives, and sealants.
- Fabricate wires, perform electrical terminations, soldering, crimping, wire routing, continuity checks, labeling, and sealing.
- Troubleshoot electrical circuits and wiring.
- Work in various positions, including standing, kneeling, and using stair ladders, mobile lift platforms, scissor lifts, boom lifts, or overhead support systems.
- Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as eye protection and hard toe shoes.
Position Responsibilities Include:
- Support activities to plan, conduct, and document tests on products, systems, components, materials, and manufacturing processes and technologies.
- Design systems, materials, components, software, and methodologies to meet customer requirements.
- Participate in test design and perform routine procurement, fabrication, and assembly of components, test fixtures, and test systems.
- Support the coordination of test requirements and assist in reviewing test methods and capabilities.
- Facilitate systems integration, fabrication, and modification; support system pre-test setup, integration, checkout, and post-test tear-down.
- Conduct routine tests, analyze data, and document results.
- Troubleshoot and recommend resolution of basic laboratory and test-related problems.
- Work under general supervision.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g., Associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., Bachelor 1 year related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.).
- Experience fabricating, installing, routing, terminating, soldering, and repairing electrical wiring harnesses; or any variety of electrical components and associated equipment.
- Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience installing aircraft modifications, including fabricating and installing aircraft electrical system wiring, connectors, electrical components, or avionics boxes.
- Experience with aerospace assembly and/or electrical fabrication.
