Description: Our client is currently seeking a Sr Test Engineer
Description: As a Test Engineer , you will be using your skills and expertise to simulate, test, certify and improve cutting edge products and services. These cover a very wide range from advanced mission systems and payloads through highly integrated ground-based and aerial vehicles. This position is situated within a dynamic team-focused environment, emphasizing the planning and execution of comprehensive hardware testing for mission systems, payloads, and base vehicles. Our testing approach evolves with the design maturity, extending from initial stages through to post-production follow-ups on subsequent articles. You will support integrated engineering teams by carrying out test development engineering activities in accordance with clients standards and practices. The role involves extensive testing of hardware, aimed at assessing a broad spectrum of mission equipment such as communication, computing, navigation, and surveillance systems, to ensure they meet design and functionality standards. This position will primarily focus on the evaluation and testing of mission systems hardware. Responsibilities will include conducting risk reduction and final verifications, validations, and qualifications during the product's developmental phase, and during formal acceptance test events. Please note, this role does not require any knowledge or skills related to software or automation testing, and such experience will not be considered applicable. Ability to obtain or maintain a security clearance is required. Hybrid work arrangement is available if interested but only when possible Expected travel: 10-40% Essential Qualifications: Missile and UAS Testing Experience: Significant experience in developmental missile testing or developmental Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) testing. Aerospace and Defense Expertise: Proven background in the Aerospace and Defense industry. Comprehensive Test Planning: Demonstrated ability to prepare detailed and professional test plans, procedures, and reports, ensuring full compliance with system requirements. Technical Proficiency: Strong ability to read schematics, utilize service manuals, follow test procedures, and apply logical troubleshooting techniques. Verification and Validation (V&V) Expertise: Proficiency in planning, conducting, and documenting Verification and Validation (V&V) testing. Ownership of Test Programs: Proven experience in taking full ownership of test program activities. Collaborative Teamwork: Experience working within multi-disciplinary design and development teams. Electronic Test Equipment Proficiency: Skilled in using common electronic test and measurement equipment, such as digital multi-meters, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes. Educational Background: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a related discipline, with typically 10 or more years of relevant experience. Higher education may substitute for some of the required experience. Security Clearance: Ability to obtain or maintain a security clearance. Preferred: Experience conducing environmental qualification testing per MIL-STD-810, DO-160, and other similar industry methods and standards. Expertise in requirements management, system design, and systems integration. Knowledge of system integration lab operation to include hardware in the loop (HWIL) testing. Strong understanding of Product and Quality Assurance principles, with experience in generating and resolving product non-conformances Experience conducting certification testing for various certification organizations, such as the FAA, NASA, or the DoD. Responsibilities (including, but not limited to): Support integrated engineering teams by carrying out test engineering activities in accordance with SNC standards and practices. Collaborate with the development and systems engineers to plan tests, ensuring the tests are designed to verify the product requirement specifications and other factors. Participate in internal and external meetings and briefs. Generate presentation material and conduct presentations for internal and external program briefs. Author test plans and test procedures of various complexities, with specific test criteria. Execute testing in laboratories, hangars, on-ground or in -flight in accordance with approved test plans and test procedures to test, verify, validate, or demonstrate functionality of components, sub-systems, systems, and vehicles. When required, travel to offsite test locations and lead/participate in planned test activities. Troubleshoot test anomalies discovered during test. Author comprehensive test reports summarizing all test findings following conclusion of test.
