Job Description:
As a bartender at Julep, you’ll be responsible for creating a welcoming environment for customers while providing top-notch service. You will be crafting beverages, offering recommendations, and ensuring the bar is clean and fully stocked. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with a team, and has a passion for delivering outstanding service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages based on standard recipes or customer preferences.
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests and ensuring they have a great experience.
- Handle cash and process payments through POS systems.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including cleaning glasses, wiping down surfaces, and taking care of spills.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of bar supplies, restocking when necessary.
- Comply with all food and beverage safety standards and legal regulations, including checking IDs and ensuring responsible alcohol service.
- Create and promote drink specials and recommend menu items to guests.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up and cleaning the bar.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a bartender or in a similar role (preferably in a bar or restaurant setting).
- Knowledge of drink recipes, garnishes, and bartending techniques.
- Strong communication skills with a friendly, positive attitude.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be of legal drinking age.
- TIPS certification or similar alcohol server training preferred (but not required).
- Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items.
