What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cafe Team Member position at Julia's Corner?
We are seeking a friendly and customer-oriented individual to join our front of house team at Julia's Corner located at the Sportime Amagansett Tennis Club. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers/members and ensuring a positive and seamless dinning experience.
(This position is located at 320 Abrahams Path, Amagansett, 11930)
Duties:
- Greet members and clients of the club and take their food/drink orders.
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Opening and Closing the cafe and POS system
- Handle card on file, house accounts, cash, credit, and debit card transactions
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout/dinning area. Hourly cleaning and sanitizing of all tables and eating areas.
- Upselling food and drink items
- Maintain a clean and organized counter space
- Stock drinks, snacks, and merchandise displays as needed
- Pack camp lunch orders for EH summer camp
- Make smoothies and açai bowls
-Make Speciality Espresso and Coffee Drinks
-Prep and cut fresh fruits for acai bowls, overnight oats, and yogurt parfaits.
- Serve at Club hosted events catered by the cafe (2-3 events per season)
Requirements:
- Previous restaurant experience not necessary. Training will be provided.
- Comfortable upselling food and beverage items
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Punctual and dependable
- Capable of working independently during slower shifts
-Basic food prep skills (cutting fruits, assembling parfaits, etc.)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced café environment
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
- Need to be able to work weekdays (either morning or afternoon shifts) and weekends rotating weekends
In addition to starting pay weekly tips will be pooled amount FOH staff and divided.
LOOKING FOR STAFF ASAP! Training starts May 23rd!
Super flexible with scheduling, ideal job for high school students or college students home for the summer. Based on the amount of staff hired you'll only need to work a couple weekend days a month. Food employee discount provided!
