Asphalt Estimator

Job Summary
Julius C. Howe Asphalt & Sealing Co is seeking a full-time skilled Asphalt Estimator to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating costs, preparing bids, and ensuring projects are executed smoothly. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of experience in the paving industry, is highly organized, and is a go-getter with strong communication skills. Duties

• Estimate project costs based on site conditions, materials, and labor requirements.
• Bid on a competitive basis and submit detailed proposals and sealed bids.
• Create daily schedules for crews to ensure seamless job execution.
• Travel to potential job sites to assess conditions and meet with site owners or representatives.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with contractors, suppliers, and clients.
• Communicate effectively with foremen and crews to coordinate job details.
• Follow up with previous customers to discuss future projects and maintain business relationships.
• Handle incoming calls and respond to customer inquiries via phone and email.
• Ensure a safe work environment by following all safety protocols and procedures.

Skills

• 1-3 years of experience in the asphalt paving industry.
• Proven experience in asphalt estimating and bidding.
• Strong knowledge of asphalt paving techniques, materials, and project requirements.
• Excellent communication skills (phone, email, and in-person interactions).
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with crews, supervisors, and clients.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong time management skills.

Work Schedule:

• Full-time, Monday to Friday
• Overtime available during peak seasons

• Based on project sites across residential and commercial locations

Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
