Camp Director

Job Overview
The Camp Director plays a pivotal role in overseeing the overall operations and management of the camp, ensuring a safe, engaging, and educational environment for all participants. This position involves planning and implementing programs that foster personal growth, teamwork, and outdoor skills among campers. The Camp Director will work closely with staff, campers, and parents to create a positive camp experience while adhering to educational standards and safety regulations.

Duties

• Develop and implement a comprehensive camp curriculum that promotes learning, sports and personal development.
• Supervise camp staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure effective program delivery.
• Collaborate with educational institutions to align camp activities with higher education teaching objectives.
• Maintain communication with parents and guardians regarding camper progress and any concerns.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols to create a secure environment for all participants.
• Organize camp sports games, activities, events, and schedules to maximize camper engagement and enjoyment.
• Evaluate program effectiveness through feedback from campers and staff, making necessary adjustments for improvement.
• Foster an inclusive atmosphere that encourages participation from all campers.

Requirements

• Proven experience working with students in an educational or camp setting is essential.
• Background in higher education teaching or education administration is preferred.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire staff and campers alike.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with campers, parents, and staff members.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
• Passion for education and youth development, with a commitment to creating a positive learning environment.
• First Aid/CPR certification is a plus but can be obtained after hiring.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $18.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 40 per week
