Responsibilities:
- Oversee the maintenance and development of all gardens, landscapes, and plant life at June Farms.
- Design, plant, and maintain flower beds, vegetable gardens, ornamental displays, and seasonal plantings.
- Supervise the growth and health of our orchard and develop a sales program for the fruit.
- Cultivate, harvest, and arrange fresh flowers for events, weddings, and special occasions at June Farms.
- Manage greenhouse operations, seed propagation, and plant cultivation.
- Ensure all gardens, pathways, and outdoor spaces are well-manicured, weed-free, and thriving.
- Work closely with event coordinators and designers to provide floral arrangements and greenery for farm events.
- Develop and execute a seasonal planting schedule that enhances the natural beauty of the farm year-round.
- Supervise a team of gardening staff and volunteers, providing training and direction as needed.
- Maintain irrigation systems and ensure plants receive proper watering and nutrients.
- Identify and manage plant diseases, pests, and other garden-related challenges using eco-friendly practices.
- Collaborate with the farm’s culinary team to provide fresh herbs, edible flowers, and produce for farm-to-table dining experiences.
- Source and order plants, flowers, soil, fertilizers, and gardening supplies.
- Maintain and operate gardening tools, machinery, and equipment in good working order.
- Keep records of plant care, inventory, and seasonal planting schedules.
- Enhance the farm’s visual appeal through creative and sustainable landscaping techniques.
- Educate farm visitors and guests about the plants and flowers grown on-site, offering garden tours and workshops when applicable.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Head Gardener, Lead Horticulturist, or Florist.
- Extensive knowledge of plants, flowers, soil health, and sustainable gardening practices.
- Strong floral design skills with experience creating arrangements for events and special occasions.
- Experience managing a team and working in a farm, estate, or hospitality setting is a plus.
- Ability to operate gardening equipment and tools safely and effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Creative eye for landscape design and floral aesthetics.
- Passion for nature, sustainability, and hands-on outdoor work.
- Must be able to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
Position Details:
