Primary Objective of Position
To maintain and elevate our camp program. The Camp Aide must love camp, enjoy having fun and is a responsible individual. Also performs assignments with a positive attitude that reflects Jungle Islands mission and vision of connecting people, wildlife and conservation. The Summer Camp Aide assists and provides support to the Camp Instructor.
Essential Functions
- Provides customer service to program participants.
- Foresees program needs.
- Prepares and ensures availability of program materials.
- Provides operational support to Camp Instructor.
- Sets up and clean up supplies and crafts.
- Customer support for program participants (directions on what to do, where to go, restroom supervision for groups of children)
- Operational details checking in guests and complete assigned tasks.
- Support Camp Instructors by helping as needed.
- Foresees program needs by knowing program schedule.
- Take direction from Camp Instructors.

Physical Demands
- Able to work outdoors for extended periods of time
- Capable of standing for 3-4-hour periods
- It is a must that this person is physically able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds or more
- This position may require you to work in adverse weather conditions like rain, cold and the summer heat.
Qualifications
- Experience working a classroom setting, camp setting or in a licensed childcare facility.
- Coursework in child development.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
