Higher Education Financial Counselor
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Higher Education Financial Counselor to join our team at Juniata College. As a key member of our Student Financial Planning department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of our students by providing exceptional service and support in all aspects of financial aid.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one counseling and guidance to students and their families regarding financial aid procedures and processes.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations.
- Analyze and resolve student eligibility issues related to financial aid.
- Administer private loans for students and parents, including review of application information and certification.
- Monitor campus employment and earnings, and serve as the office's primary contact regarding work-study.
- Develop and maintain accurate records and reports related to financial aid operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- One to three years of related experience in student support services or client support services.
- Ability to quickly learn and effectively utilize financial aid software and other software as needed.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of data entry and word processing (typing, editing, formatting documents).
- Able to analyze and solve problems.
