What are the responsibilities and job description for the School-Based Telehealth Counselor-Immediate Need position at Virtual Counselor & College Telehealth?
IMMEDIATE NEED-Virtual School Counselor-Looking to fill immediate needs for the spring 2025 school year.
About Virtual Counselor: Since 2013, we have provided over 100,000 Telehealth sessions and continue to expand nationwide in 40 states. Our licensed online mental health therapists support students, parents, schools, and private pay clients via live video conferencing. Our highly trained social workers, school counselors, and therapists deliver pivotal therapy sessions to K-12 and college students through our school partnerships. We also support EAP programs, businesses, families, and individuals.
K-12 School-Based Telehealth: Our school Counseling Team is dedicated to partnering with School Administration to provide comprehensive telehealth services in unison with student educational goals. Virtual counseling is offered in the form of weekly individual, group, and parent training as a Special Education Related Service. In addition to clinical time, clinicians will be responsible for completing progress notes, goal plans, quarterly progress reports, and other applicable paperwork. This is considered a collaborative role in which clinicians are an extension of the school's IEP team. All referrals for this role are provided directly by Virtual Counselor and our partnering schools consistently.
Specific Qualifications for K-12 Applicants:
- Credentials: PA License (LPC, LCSW, LSW, LAPC, LMFT, or equivalent) or valid Pennsylvania Elementary and Secondary School Counselor Certificate
- School Experience: Familiarity with School-Based Services, Special Education, and IEP/504 plans.
- Clearances: Updated clearances within one year. (FBI, Child Abuse, State Police) and other clearance as requested.
- Availability: School-based schedule during approved hours. Generally, 9 am-7 pm. It is necessary that the clinician have some daytime availability to fulfill this role.
- Caseload: Preferred minimum is 10 students. Caseloads can be built to a preferred number of 25 .
- Preferred Skills: Strong clinical skills, dynamic, independent, and highly creative in modifying interventions to a virtual format - Tech-savvy, good at problem-solving & troubleshooting. Professional & excellent communicator - Proactive, independent, & self-starter.
- Reimbursement Rate: Therapists are paid an hourly rate which varies based on credentials, school assigned, and caseload size. During the contracting process, we will explore which program will best utilize your strengths, experience, and clinical skills. We strive to be fair and transparent about our reimbursement model.

- LGBTQI Affirmative Therapists
- Therapists with experience facilitating Adolescent Male Groups.
