SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Regional Vice President & Executive Director (RVP) and Regional Leadership (RL), the Development Associate supports fundraising efforts, volunteer engagement, special events, account management, financials, deposits, data entry, and organization in our BCRM and other systems, and managing all files for the region. Duties include development support, administrative tasks, event coordination, executive assistant responsibilities, data tracking, and relationship stewardship. This full-time position (40 hours/week) is based in Costa Mesa, CA.
Key Responsibilities
Development Coordination
- Provide administrative support to the RVP and RL, including calendar management, meeting preparation, and document organization.
- Input and retrieve data from BCRM & OneCause systems; ensure accurate data entry & maintenance.
- Conduct research on prospective partnerships, preparing informational briefs for follow-up by RVP & RL.
- Manage logistics for donor meetings and special events, including sponsor tracking, follow-up, and on-site support.
- Track accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, and all tracking for the region.
Administrative Coordination
- Support RVP & RL calendars, including coordination of meetings.
- Organize and maintain files, records, and correspondence for the region.
- Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Prepare reports, impact reports, presentations, and correspondence on behalf of the RVP & RL.
Board Coordination
- Serve as the administrative liaison to the OCIE Board, including scheduling meetings, taking minutes, and distributing materials.
- Build positive relationships with board members and volunteers to encourage ongoing engagement.
Event Coordination
- Assist in planning & executing fundraising and student-focused events, ensuring event logistics.
- Manage event-related materials, such as registration lists and sponsor packages.
- Provide on-site support, including event setup, registration, and post-event follow-up.
Data Tracking and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of donors, volunteers, teachers, and school engagement.
- Track volunteer participation and volunteer involvement using BCRM and other tools.
- Run Reports and inform of weekly data to the RVP & RL.
Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with the regional team to meet organizational objectives.
- Provide administrative and logistical support for programs and initiatives as assigned
- Serve as a representative of JA with stakeholders, showcasing professionalism and strong communication skills.

Skills & Qualifications

- An undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Two years of professional experience in administrative support, development, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM systems (e.g., Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge).

- Based in Costa Mesa, CA, serves the Orange County & Inland Empire Region.
- Non-Exempt, Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- $25 - $29 an hour.
