About the Role
Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada is seeking a dynamic and highly organized Development Manager to lead the planning, execution, and growth of our fundraising events, donor engagement strategies, and development operations.
This individual will play a key role in securing financial support through special events, corporate sponsorships, donor cultivation, and grant support — all while elevating Junior Achievement’s visibility and mission in the community.
Key Responsibilities
Event Management & Strategy
- Lead the planning, logistics, and execution of all special events and donor activities.
- Develop detailed event plans, budgets, timelines, and marketing collateral.
- Oversee vendor negotiations, volunteer coordination, and event setup/teardown.
- Ensure post-event evaluations (SWOT analysis) are conducted to identify improvements.
Donor Relations & Stewardship
- Cultivate, solicit, and steward individual, corporate, and in-kind donors.
- Develop year-round donor engagement plans to foster long-term relationships.
- Assist with donor thank-you processes and maintain records in the database.
Committee & Volunteer Management
- Partner with event committee chairs to coordinate and support meetings.
- Lead volunteer recruitment, recognition, and training for fundraising events.
Grant Support & Prospect Research
- Support grant research and collaborate on proposal deadlines and submissions.
- Identify new funding opportunities and assist in keeping the development calendar on track.
Administrative & Communications
- Maintain accurate financials, marketing materials, and donor database records.
- Develop proposals, sponsorship packets, and event-related communication materials.
- Collaborate with the Director of Development and leadership team to align events with organizational goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in fundraising, event planning, or donor development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong public speaking ability.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and handle confidential information with discretion.
- Energetic self-starter with a passion for mission-driven work.
- Must pass background and drug screening checks.
- Physically able to lift 25 lbs and work in variable environments as needed during events.
