What are the responsibilities and job description for the Development Coordinator position at Junior League of Raleigh?
The Junior League of Raleigh is looking for a Development and Funding Coordinator. This person will coordinate administrative tasks, donor record-keeping, and financial processing to support fundraising and development efforts. Assist with marketing materials, event coordination, and sponsorship management while ensuring compliance with governance standards. Maintain accurate records, process payments, and support League Leadership in executing fundraising initiatives and community engagement.
The Junior League of Raleigh (JLR) is a local chapter of the Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc., an organization of women whose mission is to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
Administrative duties:
- Works with JLR leaders to ensure consistency and alignment with JLR governance standards.
- In collaboration with the League Leadership committee, coordinate development. administrative tasks for the year regarding events, communications and stewardship.
- Batch and scan all payments for checks and credit cards.
- Collaborate with League members, leadership and other staff members as appropriate
- Records and maintains incident reports at CCL and follows JLR Risk Plan protocols.
- Maintaining a credit card check out system for members in coordination with League Leadership and other staff.
Development Duties:
- Ensure that staff maintain office systems that support all fund development projects and operations, including donor and gift record-keeping for accurate and timely fundraising reporting.
- Record keeping for tax letters and thank-you letters for Annual Fund campaigns.
- Support the management of In-Kind & Sponsor donation record keeping.
- With Exhibitor Co-Chairs, update and manage Merchant Application form and Merchant Contract, handling Merchant profiles and Vendor Management module, and depositing booth payments for those not paying online.
- Maintain confidential information.
- Preparing and uploading information to the vendors prior to fundraising events and keeps League Leaders advised on the highlights of the event process and challenges.
- Draft solicitation letters, coordinate the Captains' signing, and mailing letters. Prepare and order pledge forms/envelopes, as necessary.
- Record LOIs.
- Work with League Leaders to define sponsorship levels, donor levels and benefits.
- Making bank deposits on a weekly basis and daily during events such as Spree and Touch a Truck.
- Managing JLR Treasury at events such as Spree and Touch a Truck.
Marketing Duties:
- Support development of marketing materials for potential donors and planned giving.
- Support marketing fundraising events and activities to the broader public in collaboration with League Leadership.
- Develop marketing materials for annual giving opportunities.
