Job Summary: The Excavation Foreman will oversee and manage all aspects of excavation, demolition, sewer installation, and snow removal projects. This position is responsible for supervising field crews, ensuring project timelines are met, maintaining equipment, and ensuring safety standards are upheld on all job sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead, supervise, and direct excavation and demolition crews, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
  • Project Management: Oversee excavation, demolition, sewer installation, and snow removal projects from start to finish, ensuring projects meet deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to company safety procedures, local regulations, and industry standards. Conduct daily safety briefings and inspections.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and inspect the quality of work on-site, ensuring work is performed to the highest standards.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper use and maintenance of all excavation and demolition equipment. Troubleshoot and coordinate repairs as needed.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Coordinate project schedules, ensuring that labor, equipment, and materials are available as needed to meet project deadlines.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, timecards, equipment usage, and any issues or changes on job sites.
  • Client Communication: Communicate with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to provide updates and address any concerns.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and mentorship to junior staff, helping to improve skills and maintain high standards.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in excavation, demolition, or similar heavy construction fields, with at least 2 years in a leadership or foreman role.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of excavation, demolition, sewer, and snow removal processes. Proficient in operating and maintaining heavy machinery.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, maintaining productivity and morale on job sites.
  • Safety-Focused: In-depth understanding of safety regulations and the ability to implement safety practices on-site.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with clients, team members, and management.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift heavy objects as required.
  • Certifications: OSHA certification, first aid/CPR, and any additional relevant certifications preferred.
  • Driving: Must have a valid drivers license and good driving recod.
