We are seeking a talented Manufacturing Manager to join our dynamic team and help drive our mission forward.

Position Overview :

We are looking for an accomplished Manufacturing Manager to take charge of the day-to-day operations for first-in-human builds. You will play a critical role in ensuring safety, GMP compliance, and process optimization while driving long-term scalability through manufacturing best practices. The ideal candidate will also collaborate with the Supply Chain to resolve material shortages, work with Manufacturing Engineers on process design, and assist in the development of the COGS model.

This role is focused on delivering measurable results within the first 30, 60, and 90 days, ensuring the candidate has a clear path to success. If you are results-driven, proactive, and experienced in building efficient manufacturing processes, we want you to lead and make an impact.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Day-to-Day Operations Management : Oversee daily manufacturing operations for first-in-human builds, ensuring on time, on-budget, and high-quality production. Foster a culture of safety and compliance with GMP protocols.
  • Capacity Modeling & Planning : Create and maintain capacity models, assess production capacity, and ensure alignment with scaling requirements.
  • Supply Chain Coordination : Partner with the Supply Chain team to address material shortages, ensuring continuous flow of materials for production without delays.
  • Work Orders & ERP Improvements : Implement work order processes and optimize ERP systems for improved production tracking, reporting, and process efficiency.
  • COGS Model Development : Assist with developing the COGS model in collaboration with finance and accounting teams. Focus on cost tracking and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Continuous Improvement & Process Optimization : Work with Manufacturing Engineers to refine processes for manufacturability and reliability, focusing on scalability through DFM and DFR principles.

30-Day Expectations :

  • Learn the Team and Operations : Understand the current manufacturing processes, safety protocols, and compliance standards. Meet with team members, engineers, and key stakeholders to assess existing processes and identify immediate opportunities for improvement.
  • Assess Current Production Capacity : Review capacity models, production schedules, and resource allocation. Begin tracking key KPIs to establish a baseline for performance.
  • Understand Material Flow and Supply Chain Issues : Meet with the Supply Chain team to understand material shortages and production delays. Begin identifying any critical areas that need attention.
  • Initiate Safety and Compliance Audit : Conduct a safety and GMP compliance audit to identify any immediate gaps and begin implementing corrective actions where needed.
  • 60-Day Expectations :

  • Implement Early Process Improvements : Start implementing small-scale process changes to improve manufacturability and efficiency. Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers to refine process designs, aiming for reduced complexity.
  • Strengthen Supply Chain Coordination : Address material shortages by collaborating more closely with Supply Chain, ensuring production runs smoothly. Introduce new workflows for better coordination between teams.
  • Work with Finance on COGS Model : Begin assisting in the development of the COGS model. Work with the finance team to understand current costs and explore areas where cost efficiency can be improved in manufacturing.
  • Develop and Implement Initial KPI Tracking : Establish key metrics for operational efficiency, product quality, and team performance. Track results and provide progress reports on early improvements.
  • 90-Day Expectations :

  • Lead Full-scale Process Improvements : Implement larger-scale improvements to manufacturing processes that align with long-term scalability. Focus on Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Reliability (DFR) principles to reduce complexity and enhance efficiency.
  • Fully Operationalize COGS Model : Assist in the finalization of the COGS model and ensure that accurate cost tracking mechanisms are in place. Work with the finance team to optimize cost structures, driving profitability.
  • Drive Capacity & Resource Planning for Growth : Fully understand and lead capacity planning, ensuring that manufacturing resources are aligned with production needs for scaling. Create forecasts for future growth, ensuring the team is prepared for upcoming production demands.
  • Refine and Optimize ERP System : Fully integrate the ERP system for work order management and production tracking. Implement improvements that streamline manufacturing processes, making the system more efficient and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
  • Establish Strong Team Culture and Leadership : D evelop and implement training plans to enhance the skills of the manufacturing team. Foster an environment of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability.

  • Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base pay for this role is between $90,000 - $180,000 per year depending on experience. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as : education, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for equity, benefits and 401(K) with matching.
