Position Description
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills by creating a positive impression at all times with all customers.
- Provide value to customers with difficult issues through use of good listening, communication, and problems solving skills
- Perform installation of low voltage projects for LINX' clients by:
- cabling rough-in and termination (all media types)
- cabling testing and documentation (all media types)
- Build-out of MDF and IDF (racks, patch panels, wire managers, network electronics, etc.)
- installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low voltage cable systems
- Work with CAT 5e, 6 and 6a twisted pair cable, optical fiber, coax, etc.
- Perform all cable pulling, suspension, fireproofing, terminating, and testing in accordance with BICSI standards, National Electrical Code (NEC) and other local regulations;
- Perform all work in a neat and quality manner.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management
- Travel to job sites as needed, may also be required to travel out of the state.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to work on ladders while pulling cable and installing cable supporting material
- Must be able to use power tools
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Must have the ability to lift/carry/setup a 50 pound box or ladder
- Must be able to work overhead, or below raised floors
- Must be able to carry materials up to 50 pounds up/down stairs and over uneven terrain
- Basic low voltage tools, snips, cable strippers, screwdrivers, wrenches, etc.
- Ability to travel for out of town work as needed
- Ability to work 2nd or 3rd shift and overtime as needed
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Must pass 7 year criminal background check
- Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
- Must have a valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE (not required)
- Prior experience with low voltage installations in commercial buildings
- Base knowledge of General construction
- Experience reading and understanding blue prints
- Prior experience with networking protocols, LAN/WAN concepts, and TCP/IP networking.
- BICSI, Technician, or Installation Certification
- Powder Actuated tools Certification
- Confined Space Certification
- CPR or first aid certified
- Manufactures Certifications for Installation and Maintenance
- Truck/Van & power tools fully equipped a plus
