Position Description

• Demonstrate excellent customer service skills by creating a positive impression at all times with all customers.
• Provide value to customers with difficult issues through use of good listening, communication, and problems solving skills
• Perform installation of low voltage projects for LINX' clients by:

• cabling rough-in and termination (all media types)
• cabling testing and documentation (all media types)
• Build-out of MDF and IDF (racks, patch panels, wire managers, network electronics, etc.)
• installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low voltage cable systems
• Work with CAT 5e, 6 and 6a twisted pair cable, optical fiber, coax, etc.

• Perform all cable pulling, suspension, fireproofing, terminating, and testing in accordance with BICSI standards, National Electrical Code (NEC) and other local regulations;
• Perform all work in a neat and quality manner.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management
• Travel to job sites as needed, may also be required to travel out of the state.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to work on ladders while pulling cable and installing cable supporting material
• Must be able to use power tools
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Must have the ability to lift/carry/setup a 50 pound box or ladder
• Must be able to work overhead, or below raised floors
• Must be able to carry materials up to 50 pounds up/down stairs and over uneven terrain
• Basic low voltage tools, snips, cable strippers, screwdrivers, wrenches, etc.
• Ability to travel for out of town work as needed
• Ability to work 2nd or 3rd shift and overtime as needed
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Must pass 7 year criminal background check
• Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
• Must have a valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE (not required)

• Prior experience with low voltage installations in commercial buildings
• Base knowledge of General construction
• Experience reading and understanding blue prints
• Prior experience with networking protocols, LAN/WAN concepts, and TCP/IP networking.
• BICSI, Technician, or Installation Certification
• Powder Actuated tools Certification
• Confined Space Certification
• CPR or first aid certified
• Manufactures Certifications for Installation and Maintenance
• Truck/Van & power tools fully equipped a plus
