Education

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • Associates Degree preferred

Experience / Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-3years experience in Medical Staff Office;hospital experience preferred.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have excellent computer skills including various Microsoft office applications as well as ability to use other software programs.
  • Ability to work independently, self-direct and exercise independent judgment in situations requiring follow-up and discussions with clinical staff and / or other areas to ensure completeness of task and customer satisfaction.
  • Works well in a team environment to accomplish common tasks to solve problems and enhance the smooth and efficient flow of the department.
  • Position Summary

    Medical Staff Administrative Coordinator supports the Medical Staff Director in the daily operations of the the Medical Staff Department.

  • Manage / assist high volume phone lines
  • Interact with members of the medical staff to provide resources as necessary
  • Pre-application Management (screening qualifications)
  • Schedules Orientation-Physician and Advance Practice Provider (tour and onboarding)
  • Contract Management
  • Demographic updates (credentialing software and JMC intranet)
  • Management of Resignations
  • JMC Medical Staff Communications (external / internal)
  • Coordinates, scribe (minutes) for five (5) Chief of Department
  • Expirable Updates (data entry)
  • Management of Annual dues
  • Attend / participate in Special events / functions of the Medical Staff-Onsite / offsite
  • Coordinates Lunch / Dinner for Credentials Committee Meeting and Medical Executive Meeting
  • Assist with the development of the ER Call Schedule
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Director of the Medical Staff Office

    Physical Requirements

    Requires sitting for long periods of time, also stooping, bending, standing, and stretching. May require lifting up to 20 lbs. Must have manual dexterity for typing and computer data entry. Able to work under a stressful environment, work independently, capable of making sound decisions, be detail oriented, alert, and self-motivated. Ability to push / pull up to 40lbs., carry and lift up to 20lbs.

  • These threshold requirements are required and completed yearly basis
  • Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation

  • TB / PPD Surveillance Program
  • Maintenance of required professional licensing and / or certification(s).
