Development Associate
Jupiter seeks to grow its team with the recruitment of a key hire to help support project development activities. Responsibilities include supporting all key project activities across the development cycle, including prospecting, land acquisition, permitting, engineering, interconnection, contracting, procurement and construction activities. Responsibilities include all key development activities ranging from complex permitting and land acquisition efforts to advancing conceptual design, planning, interconnection, and supporting construction and project execution. As a tight-knit, interdisciplinary team, we collaborate on priorities and expect individuals to be flexible and focused on advancing the broader team goals. This individual is expected to be a quick learner, hard-working, and enthusiastic about working with the entire development and broader Jupiter teams to advance Jupiter’s significant and growing platform. This individual is expected to apply ‘best- in-class’ principles and can expect their coworkers to do the same.
The role will be based in Chicago, IL and the individual will be expected to follow the Company's return-to-office policy which currently requires employes to work a minimum of three days per week in the office.
Key Responsibilities
- Advance Jupiter’s leading portfolio of development positions from initial desktop screening through pre-construction, with a focus on executing on near-term project siting, land acquisition, early-stage diligence, and supporting complex permitting processes.
- Research development prospects, including real estate, permitting and other development attributes, as well as landowner and counterparty identification
- Lead market research activities, synthesizing key updates for internal distribution
- Prepare and maintain project budgets, project schedules, and project financial models, in collaboration with development and finance teams
- Vet and prepare documents for legal and commercial review and execution
- Assist with management of project consultants
- Lead preparation of presentations and other communication materials for stakeholders and counterparties
- Maintain document storage and management systems for project and corporate functions
- Prepare and process scheduled payments for project activities
- Maintain Jupiter’s marketing materials, including all templates
- Support internal investment approval process and prepare board materials for approval
Requirements
- 2 years of professional experience, preferably in renewable energy project development or related field
- Unafraid to work hard, and take ownership and initiative in order to be effective within a highly motivated, fast-moving team
- Experience collaborating with diverse teams to successfully deliver complex projects
- Comfortable with ambiguity and making decisions with limited information
- Eager to wear multiple hats depending on business need and project priorities
- A desire to grow in the role and take on more and more responsibility with an eye towards eventually owning projects
- Ability to travel as needed to support project permitting and development work. Travel will vary depending on project stage, but may be up to 35% in the near-term
- (Preferred) Familiarity with energy storage technologies and deployments
Compensation & Benefits
$80,000 - $100,000 Annually
This pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Jupiter Power considers a number of factors when determining starting compensation such as the position requirements and the candidate's qualifications.
In addition to base pay, the total annual compensation package for this position includes eligibility to participate in our bonus and equity programs.
