America for over a decade, have GWs of Assets in Operation, GWs of projects under Construction, and GWs of projects in their Development Pipeline - Onshore / Offshore Wind, Solar, Solar , Hydrogen, Pump Storage, Transmission, Long Duration Storage, etc.
Job Description
The Energy Storage - Head of Project Development (WECC) - Chicago will :
- Lead and manage interdisciplinary teams including land negotiations, real estate, engineering, permitting, legal, and interconnection through construction commencement - through third-party Development shops & Development Service agreements.
- Lead project strategy throughout the entire development process to achieve project & corporate goals.
- Develop and manage project development schedules and budgets.
- Lead project meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage contract obligations in key project documents.
- Facilitate project discretionary permitting including permit strategy, tracking permit efforts, working with local AHJs, and presenting at permit hearings as needed.
- Coordinate closely with the cross-functional teams across the company.
- At least 8 years of project development experience in renewable energy - preferably with BESS, but must have utility-scale Solar project development experience as a minimum.
- Ideally taking projects from early-mid stage development through to COD.
- Undergraduate degree, preferably in renewable energy, finance, engineering, project / construction management or equivalent.
- Experienced people leader and manager of cross-functional project team subject matter authorities.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Extensive knowledge of renewable energy project development, utilities, interconnection, permitting, and contracting.
- Extensive knowledge of renewable energy and energy storage technologies.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required including public speaking and / or platform skills for executive management presentations.
