VBF is a thriving, community-oriented church with a large impact. As we continue to grow and expand, we seek a passionate and dedicated Worship Pastor/Director to lead our congregation in worship. Our location offers a small-town feel with affordable housing while being conveniently two hours from Los Angeles, the beach, and a national forest—making it a great place to live and serve.
Position Summary
The Worship Pastor/Director is a godly individual with a heart to seek after God and lead our church family in glorifying Him through music and worship. This leader will cultivate an atmosphere of intergenerational worship, blending contemporary and traditional elements to engage our congregation.
Essential Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the leadership and pastors to plan worship services, selecting songs and arrangements that align with the gospel message.
- Lead Sunday worship services, incorporating hymns and current worship songs.
- Oversee planning center and scheduling of worship services
- Recruit, train, schedule, and disciple worship team members, including instrumentalists, vocalists, and production staff.
- Provide direction for student and children's ministry worship teams.
- Coordinate song lyrics and presentation with the production team.
- Lead worship for special services and events.
- Oversee the church choir and music-related ministries.
- Manage musical instruments and computer equipment, ensuring maintenance and upgrades as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Preferred: church-based training program or music degree.
- Experience: 1-2 years working in a church setting (staff, intern)
- Musical Skills: Skilled musician with vocal and instrumental abilities (guitar or piano/Keys preferred).
- Technical Knowledge: Experience with Sound DAWS, Loops, multi-track
