JustinBradley’s client, a leading source of mortgage financing, is seeking a highly skilled FinOps Specialist to join their team and support the gathering, analysis, and communication of financial information. This role will primarily focus on managing and executing AWS showback/chargeback processes, including forecasting, chargeback methodology, and business unit budgets. The specialist will also coordinate between the FP&A, FinOps, and Reporting teams and provide communication and Q&A support to the user community.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a knowledgeable FinOps and FP&A team, with room for independent growth and continuous improvement initiatives. As the role matures, there will be opportunities for more autonomy and reduced oversight, potentially leading to future conversion into a permanent position.
In this role, you will:
- Execute and manage AWS showback/chargeback processes, including analysis, reporting, and communication of financial information.
- Develop and maintain forecasting practices and chargeback methodology.
- Support business unit budgets (baselines and transfers) and provide coordination across FP&A, FinOps, and Reporting teams.
- Conduct trend/variance analysis to identify opportunities for financial optimization.
- Provide process documentation, controls, and assistance with monthly close and reporting activities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and manage ongoing change within established processes.
- Effectively communicate complex financial data to key stakeholders, including senior executives, using clear and concise PowerPoint presentations.
- Respond to financial inquiries and provide Q&A support to the user community.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure smooth execution of financial processes and controls with minimal oversight.
- Analyze business trends and project future revenues and expenses, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Take prescriptive direction from the FinOps and FP&A teams, while independently identifying areas for process enhancement.
All About You:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related financial discipline (required); advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: 10 years of financial and/or accounting experience.
- Familiarity with FinOps and AWS financial processes.
- Proven experience with FP&A analytics, process management, and execution of financial controls.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other financial software.
- Expertise in analyzing business trends, projecting future revenues, and managing financial data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor messages for executive-level audiences.
- High attention to detail and critical thinking skills with the ability to manage time independently.
