What are the responsibilities and job description for the FinOps Specialist position at Veteran Staffing Network?
Special Notes:
1) U.S. Military Veteran, National Guardsman, Reservist, and/or Military Spouse status highly preferred
2) This is a W2 position. No C2C
3) Candidates must be either a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder. No sponsorships
4) Location: Mostly Remote - Candidates MUST be local to DC and able to come to downtown DC office quarterly.
5) Duration: 12 months - possibility to extend or be converted to regular full-time employee
6) Hours: 9AM to 5PM Eastern Time
7) Pay Rate: $60/hour
Job Description:
- Analyze and communicate financial information
- Execute and manage AWS showback/chargeback processes, analysis, and communications including, forecasting practices, chargeback methodology, business unit budgets (baselines and transfers), coordination between FP&A/FinOps/Reporting teams, communication and Q&A to/from user community, trend/variance analysis, process documentation & controls, monthly close/reporting assistance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related financial discipline required
- 10 years financial and/or accounting experience required.
- Proficiency with FinOps and AWS, as well as process and controls execution
- Ability to translate information into concise PowerPoint comms for executive consumption
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Expert ability to analyze business trends and project future revenues and expenses
- Expert knowledge of economic and accounting principles, financial markets, and financial reporting
- High proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and related financial software
Preferred Qualifications
- An advanced degree in a financial discipline is preferred.
- Deep experience with AWS business chargeback and or forecasting
- Evidence of successful change management and communications support
- Deep process management experience (complexity/autonomy)
- Deep FP&A analysis experience
