Job Title: FinOps Specialist
Job Description:
Our client is seeking a FinOps Specialist to gather, analyze, and communicate financial information. The role will be responsible for supporting AWS showback/chargeback processes, forecasting, and collaborating across teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and communicate financial data to clients
- Execute and manage AWS showback/chargeback processes, including analysis and communications
- Lead forecasting practices and manage chargeback methodology
- Oversee business unit budgets (baselines and transfers) and ensure accuracy
- Coordinate effectively between FP&A, FinOps, and Reporting teams
- Facilitate communication and Q&A between user community and financial teams
- Perform trend/variance analysis and provide insightful reports
- Document processes, enforce controls, and assist with monthly close/reporting
- Support and reinforce established processes, ensuring evolution and continuous change management
- Collaborate closely with a knowledgeable FinOps and FP&A team, with opportunities to independently identify and implement continuous improvement
- Role expected to evolve into a more independent and autonomous position with reduced oversight
Skills & Qualifications:
- Verbal and written communication skills: Ability to clearly articulate complex financial information
- Attention to detail: High level of accuracy in financial reporting and analysis
- Critical thinking: Ability to assess business trends and forecast future revenues and expenses
- Expert knowledge of economic principles, accounting principles, and financial markets
- Strong technical skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and financial software applications
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Proven experience in business trend analysis and financial reporting
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related financial discipline required
- Advanced degree in financial discipline preferred
- 7 years of financial and/or accounting experience required
Must Have:
- Familiarity with FinOps and AWS
- Experience with process and controls execution
- Ability to collaborate and coordinate cross-functionally
- Ability to execute tasks and existing processes with minimal oversight
- Basic FP&A analytics skills
- Ability to translate information into concise PowerPoint presentations for executive consumption
Nice to Have:
- Experience with AWS business chargeback and/or forecasting
- Evidence of successful change management and communication support
- Deeper process management experience, especially with complexity and autonomy
- Advanced FP&A analysis experience
Salary : $70 - $80
