What are the responsibilities and job description for the Case Manager, Intensive Prevention Services (IPS) position at Juvenile Justice Center of Philadelphia?
We are seeking a Case Manager to join the Intensive Prevention Services (IPS) program at the Juvenile Justice Center of Philadelphia. The Intensive Prevention Services (IPS) program focuses on youth who are drifting into delinquency and is a key component in the collaboration with each client’s school, Diversionary Programs and Police Districts, in order to reduce the impact on the “school-to-prison pipeline”.
JJC offers programming in the Northwest section of Philadelphia and Southwest Philadelphia. Parents/ guardians can make a direct referral to one of our programs.
What you’ll be doing:
As the Case Manager you will be making a personal impact of the life of the children JJC serves by using your problem-solving skills and creativity in the development of programs and activities that include the 7 core concepts of resilience, which are the program’s core values.
You will work closely with the family and other stakeholders such as schoolteachers and counselors to develop an academic support plan. Acting as an advocate you will support parents and caregivers in obtaining the educational needs of the children through navigation of the school support system and introduction to other community resources and educational advocacy groups.
Qualified candidates for this position must;
· Possess a Bachelor’s degree human service, preferably social work (BSW) or counseling, plus two (2) years’ experience in family-based social Work.
· Have the ability to provide a clear Criminal background check, child sex abuse check, ACT 31/126 clearance, physical, and FBI fingerprint
This is a non-traditional office hour position with Case Managers working primarily in the afternoon and evenings, specifically during the school year and at weekends to provide maximum involvement with the family and the identified clients.
