Position Purpose:
Assist with expanding the reach and impact of JWB’s Turbo Babies Early Childhood Public Awareness Campaign. This campaign promotes early connections between baby and caregiver, nurtures a baby’s natural drive to learn, and supports parents and other caregivers as their child’s first and best teachers. The campaign targets parents and caregivers of babies ranging from birth to age three, to ensure their children achieve critical developmental milestones, and that early childhood education principles are understandable, known, and applied. This position assists with the implementation of a project plan and timeline focused on community outreach, marketing, and media to educate parents and caregivers on the campaign’s key messaging and distribute campaign materials designed to reflect the campaign principles. The position will assist in identifying and engaging key community partners, such as pediatricians, childcare centers, parent educators, and more, to promote the campaign key messages and materials.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assists with the implementation of a campaign project plan and timeline, and with the scale-up and expansion of the Turbo Babies public awareness campaign.
· Assists with identifying, engaging, and onboarding key stakeholders, such as pediatricians, childcare centers, parent educators, home visitors, churches, businesses, and more to ensure alignment with the campaign’s key messaging and objectives; this includes scheduling and providing orientation/training to new partner prospects.
· Coordinates the production, inventorying, kitting, and distribution of campaign materials/items, including Turbo Babies Pit Crew bags, to partners and for community outreach events.
· Coordinates the implementation of a community outreach plan; this includes identifying outreach opportunities, maintaining a schedule, and coordinating and attending tabling events to provide face-to-face education on the campaign to parents/caregivers.
· Assists with monitoring and tracking campaign activities, including data entry and data gathering from campaign partners.
· Assists with written content and visual design for website, social media, and e-campaigns/newsletters, maintains photo/video library, and helps coordinate other communications’ efforts relevant to the campaign.
· Builds and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders and assists in identifying opportunities for new and innovative strategic partnerships.
· Attends community partner meetings, including JWB Community Council meetings, to identify opportunities for new partnerships and campaign expansion.
· Distributes surveys to parents/caregivers and to campaign partners, as part of the Turbo Babies evaluation methodology.
· Assists with identifying, scheduling, and attending speaking engagements for broad public awareness about the campaign.
· Assists with marketing/media plan, including advertisements, PSAs, digital content, and related media buys.
· Coordinates all aspects of the Turbo Babies birthday club and related mailers.
· Distributes surveys to parents/caregivers and to campaign partners, as part of the Turbo Babies evaluation methodology.
· Coordinates volunteer recruitment, scheduling, and kitting of campaign materials (Pit Crew bags).
· Monitors the Turbo Babies shared email inbox, responds to requests, and ensures timely and regular communication with campaign partners.
· Assists with the planning, scheduling, and implementation of pop-up play groups and a street outreach team for the campaign.
· Assists with the creation of quarterly/annual reports and presentations to internal and external partners and JWB Leadership/Board.
· Other duties as assigned.
Specifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business Management, Public Health Education, or related field plus two years of relevant experience.
· Understanding of marketing, public relations, or public awareness campaigns; experience with public awareness campaigns a plus.
· Strong time management skills and ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
· Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously; project management experience a plus.
· Strong communications and interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships and engage stakeholders.
· Proven ability to work as part of a team as well as independently, and to take initiative and problem-solve.
· Experience presenting, training, or public speaking with diverse audiences
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with graphics software such as Canva a plus.
Additional Requirements:
· Successfully pass a Level 2 background screening as required by Ch. 435 Florida Statutes.
· Possess a valid driver’s license and/or access to reliable transportation.
Working Conditions:
· JWB staff shall reside within the Tampa Bay area. Currently, this is a hybrid remote position and physical presence at the JWB office and other sites in Pinellas County is required as needed.
