The COO - Supply Chain GM position will report to the president and lead all daily operations to ensure timely and complete shipping of committed products. Includes formulating policies and procedures and the planning of JVCKENWOOD's customer product requirements using collaborative planning, forecasting, and replenishment measures, aids in the development, testing, and maintenance of related enterprise resource management software.
MAJOR DUTIES
- Supervise the generation of accurate and timely reports and tools based on applicable databases on a weekly, monthly, and ad hoc basis. Ensure any changes in business processes or company data are reflected in databases so outputs present up-to-date and correct information. Investigate and resolve operations issues if necessary.
- Supervise enhancement of existing tools and create new tools as required. Work with department and executive-level managers to develop tools that will aid Supply Chain Planning and Operations Groups. Analyze all aspects of corporate operations to determine the most cost-effective and efficient supply chain procedures.
- Manage the development of departmental and customer inventory metrics as well as the design of future databases and / or enhancements. Work with users to develop additional tools that are aimed at increasing performance in weak areas (as identified using metrics).
- Lead the company's supply chain interaction with vendor-managed inventory (VMI) accounts. Periodically, benchmark how other companies execute similar programs and present a series of best practices that will allow the company to execute properly while minimizing compliance costs.
- Aid in the design and development of supplementary databases and tools that provide additional or consolidated information for Supply Chain Group as new systems are implemented. This may involve coordination with other departments, as needed, to ensure consistency of database information across company functions.
- Act as project manager for various enterprise resource management and sales reporting projects.
- Monitor National & Key Account Shipping Compliance websites and guidelines for changes in key operational performance standards.
- Act as a consultant to other corporate sectors on an as-needed basis and communicate with Japan HQ for operations issues or policy changes.
- Develop risk management programs to ensure the continuity of the supply chain.
- Oversee carrier management processes, such as compliance with policy / procedure, wages, hiring selection, qualification, and performance evaluation.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Reports directly to President and interacts with VP Corporate Accounts, Sr. National Accounts Manager(s), and Regional Sr. Sales Managers; Information Systems Managers, Sales and Product Planning, and Warehouse Senior Managers; distributors and National & Key Account Supply Chain personnel, to resolve processing problems and to maintain a high level of customer service.
