Position Purpose:
The CPSP Coordinator will coordinate a multi-disciplinary provider team in the delivery of Comprehensive Perinatal Services in a community health setting. Under the general supervision of the Clinic Administrator and Director, the CPSP Coordinator has primary responsibility for the coordination and facilitation of the JWCH Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program (CPSP) and related perinatal and infant services.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Implement and integrate the CPSP Program, including nutrition, psychosocial, and health education assessments and interventions, along with perinatal education integrated into basic obstetrical care.
- Perform routine Medical Assistant duties such as obtaining and documenting vital signs, assisting with OB/GYN procedures, chart preparation, patient intake, and updating medical histories.
- Ensure the integrity and quality of services delivered through the Comprehensive Prenatal Services Program in compliance with federal, state, and L.A. County standards, as well as individual site policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Provide assessments, documentation, and determine eligibility for participation in the CPSP program.
- Assist with patient follow-ups, postpartum visits, and lactation education as part of the overall care plan.
- Administer immunizations and conduct routine screenings under the direction of licensed staff, per clinic protocols.
- Maintain and stock exam rooms, prepare lab specimens for transport, and ensure infection control practices are followed.
- Collaborate closely with the Clinic Administrator, consultants, and medical providers to implement CPSP goals and objectives.
- Establish and maintain open communication with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health – Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program.
- Maintain program logs and statistics for internal and external reporting and audits.
- Ensure JWCH representation at designated CPSP-related meetings.
- Participate in site and program-level Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives.
- Perform other clinical and administrative duties as assigned to support the clinic and CPSP program.
Requirements:
- At least one year of experience and knowledge in the CPSP Program.
- High School Diploma and Certified Perinatal Health Worker (CPHW) certification.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant school with a current MA certificate.
- Current BLS Certification from the American Heart Association.
