Job Summary: The Prep/Polisher is responsible for deburring, polishing, and finishing metallic parts to meet customer specifications. This role requires attention to detail, precision, and the ability to follow technical instructions, including blueprints and specifications.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Set up and operate machines and tools for polishing and deburring.
• Study blueprints and specifications to determine work requirements.
• Use abrasives, sanders, grinders, and other tools to achieve required finishes.
• Perform taping, masking, and sandblasting as needed.
• Verify finished work meets specifications and perform quality checks.
• Conduct minor maintenance on equipment and maintain a clean work area.
• Adhere to safety protocols, ISO requirements, Lean principles, and company policies.
Education and Experience: 1 year of metal deburring/polishing experience preferred. Experience with sandblasting and ultrasonic cleaning is a plus. Related experience in autobody work, auto detailing, woodwork, drywall, or food service cleanliness is beneficial. High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
