General Description of Work
The Outreach Coordinator serves as a college representative at college fairs, local school districts, community spaces/events, and public activities. This position supports the College by working directly with diverse groups of prospective students to establish and advance relationships that lead to college enrollment. The Outreach Coordinator position reports to the Director for Outreach.A successful candidate will...Identify, recommend, and conduct outreach to support all prospective students in Whatcom County.Connect and communicate with prospective students and their support networks regarding all aspects of the admissions process and campus resources.Represent the college at regional college fairs, information nights, community events, cultural events and at school districts.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities and Duties:Promote Whatcom Community College to the Whatcom County community and K-12 system. Travel to outreach events throughout the region.Participate in campus committees as appropriate. Develop professional relationships with future students and high schools.Manage inventory for promotional items.Manage the Outreach e-mail inbox and respond in a timely manner.Assist with Orca Central operations, including front desk and assistance. Respond to inquiries in a timely manner by phone, mail, email, and virtual & in-person services while following FERPA regulations and maintaining the privacy and accuracy of student records.Help manage the college database for prospective students. Attend Admissions sessions at high schools to help students with submitting applications. Coordinate campus tours, including scheduling and assist conducting campus tours. Coordinate room reservations, agendas, and itineraries for campus outreach events in collaboration with outreach staff. Collaborate with other WCC Departments to support recruitment.Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:Associate's degree from an accredited institution.Demonstrated experience planning or coordinating events. Ability to perform job duties during weeknights and weekends. Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.Outreach/recruitment experience in Higher Education, government, for-profit, or community settings.Bilingual.Customer service skills.Experience supporting people through the navigation of complex processes.Experience with Microsoft Office, Teams, and Zoom. Ability to multitask with several projects and administrative duties.Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Salary
Salary and Appointment:This is a 12-month, full-time Administrative/Exempt position. Exempt from Washington State civil service law with an annual salary based upon a range of $40,000.00-45,000.00, depending on experience.Benefit Package:The position comes with a full benefit package, including health, dental, life, long-term disability insurance and a retirement plan.Accrues 8 hours per month of sick leave and 14.67 hours per month vacation leave.*Additionally, as a Washington State, public higher education institution, WCC offers the following:Whatcom Community College is a qualified employer for the PSLF program.
