The Legal Counsel/Title Officer will assist Title Offices and local management on residential and commercial land transactions. Work with Title Examiners to prepare and issue title commitments, policies, and pro-forma policies for residential, land acquisition and finance transactions in Texas. Assist in setting up master commitments for planned unit developments and condominiums. Work with builder, lender, developer and attorneys on land acquisitions and land take downs in Texas. Prepare closing statements and closing documents as required for residential and land acquisition closings. Attend closings as needed, work with Escrow Team to disburse transactions and record documents as required. Read surveys and identify survey issues.
Requirements include a law degree and 3-5 years of related experience in title insurance, land use and real estate law.
