Stormwater/Safety Compliance Manager

The Stormwater/Safety Compliance Manager is responsible for stormwater compliance for the Division and or Region, including periodic/quarterly reviews, implementing controls and training management and associates. 

Responsibilites include: 

-  Oversee and ensure all employees who directly supervise or assist in the supervision of construction activities meet the corporate policy related to stormwater/Safety training
-  Manage the development, implementation and compliance of Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) for Region
-  Develop and implement training program for Land Development Managers and Community Construction Managers on Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) Dust Control, and Safety
-  Partner with Land Development and Construction teams to ensure stormwater compliance, dust and safety on all active projects
-  Manage and control all storm water work at communities within the Region
-  Manage stormwater requirements compliance for all employees and trade partners
-  Conduct monthly/quarterly Compliance Inspections of all project sites within Division and or Region
-  Notify applicable governmental agency for any discharge violations due to a major storm event as required by the applicable permit, or due to a hazardous materials discharge
-  Ensure all active projects adhere to OSHA, state agencies safety standards and K. Hovnanian policies and practices
-  Develop, train, and implements programs for Associates on work site safety practices and accident prevention
-  Oversee additional safety training in the field and or office due to vendor/subcontractor noncompliance regarding K Hovnanian Construction Projects
-  Oversee management and administration of the Incident and Injury Prevention Program (I2P2) & the Emergency Action Plan – where applicable
-  Inspect communities to identify existing or potential accident and health hazards, determine necessary corrective or preventive measures, take corrective action to address violations and bring them into compliance, and follow-up to ensure measures are implemented, corrected, and properly documented
-  Conduct open investigations regarding on-site safety related incidents, fill out safety incident reports, fill out the General Liability reports and notify all related individuals regarding the incident
-  Improve overall Safety awareness and knowledge within the organization and manage overall Safety and Stormwater programs for the Division and or Region

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in either Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Planning or equivalent from four-year college or university.  5 years of stormwater, construction management or land development experience; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.  Successful candidate must maintain a valid driver’s license.
