Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping for various breeds of dogs and other pets.
- Assess the condition of pets' coats and skin to determine appropriate grooming techniques.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating with pet owners about grooming options and aftercare.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the grooming area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized after each use.
- Handle pets safely and effectively, using proper restraint techniques when necessary.
- Monitor the behavior of pets during grooming sessions to ensure their comfort and safety.
- Stay updated on grooming trends, techniques, and best practices in animal care.
Experience
Candidates should possess experience or skills in one or more of the following areas:
- Dog training
- Veterinary assistant or technician experience
- Equine care knowledge
- General pet care and animal care expertise
- Animal restraint techniques
- Experience working in a kennel environment
- Prior pet grooming experience is highly desirable
