Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for fabrication projects, ensuring that all aspects of the project are considered. This role requires strong negotiation skills, knowledge of quoting structural, piping, and vessel projects. The Estimator will work closely with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to ensure that all bids are competitive and aligned with project specifications.
Duties
- Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Utilize construction estimating software such as Bluebeam to create detailed cost breakdowns.
- Collaborate with project management teams to ensure accurate project scope and specifications.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best pricing.
- Monitor costs throughout the project lifecycle to maintain budget control.
- Prepare and present detailed proposals to clients, ensuring clarity on pricing and scope.
- Conduct site visits as necessary to gather additional information for estimates.
- Build strong relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to facilitate smooth project execution.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in estimating structural, piping and vessels projects or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication management principles and practices.
- Proficiency in using estimating software such as Bluebeam.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract management.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for presenting estimates and proposals.
