Job Summary
The Bookkeeper plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our cold storage operations. This position is responsible for accurately recording and managing all financial transactions, ensuring that accounts are reconciled and up-to-date. The Bookkeeper will handle billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable, all of which are essential for maintaining cash flow and supporting business growth. Additionally, the Bookkeeper will manage inventory-related financials, including cost allocations for refrigeration, transportation, and other logistics expenses. By providing timely and accurate financial reports, the Bookkeeper will support management in making informed decisions and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Essential Job Duties
- Accounts Receivable & Payable: Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, ensuring timely invoicing and payment processing.
- Inventory Management: Track and reconcile inventory records to ensure that physical stock matches the financial records, including adjustments related to cold storage conditions and transportation.
- Account Reconciliation: Perform regular account reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records and resolve discrepancies.
- Cost Allocation: Ensure accurate allocation of costs associated with refrigeration, energy consumption, transportation, and other cold storage-specific expenses.
- Invoice Processing: Process invoices and ensure that all financial transactions are recorded accurately in the general ledger.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements, for management review. Provide insights on inventory and operational cost trends.
- Regulatory Compliance: Assist with filing and organizing financial documents to ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations and audit requirements.
- Document Organization: Ensure that financial documents are filed and organized for easy access and regulatory compliance.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor, including assisting in audits and preparing regulatory filings.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Familiarity with inventory management and cost allocation principles.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Experience:
- Required: Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.
- Preferred: Experience in the cold storage or logistics industry. Familiarity with QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar
accounting platforms.
- Certification in bookkeeping or accounting (e.g., AAT, CPA) is a plus
- Experience with inventory management software and cold chain logistics.
Work Environment & Exposures:
This position is typically performed in a standard office environment.
Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with overtime as required
