SCHEDULE
Monday-Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, Full time, benefits eligible
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Responsible to perform various accounting and administrative functions.
KEY FUNCTIONS
45%: Process and record revenue for daily deposits. Process and prepare retail cash bags. Serve as custodian of cash fund to include counting, verifying and recording balances. Investigate and report all cash fund discrepancies. Generate, review, and distribute scheduled reports. Assist in month-end closing process as necessary. Prepare loose coins into rolled coins and bundle cash on hand.
40%: Greet visitors, clients and customers upon arrival. Answer and transfer phone calls. Handle inquiries professionally or redirect to appropriate personnel. Sort and distribute incoming mail and packages. Monitor and order office supplies as necessary. Assist in Union’s Lost and Found services. File, photocopy, and scan as instructed. Perform other administrative tasks in support of the department, as assigned.
15%: Assist with all internal and external audits by preparing reports and providing documentation, as directed. Attend trainings, events, and departmental meetings as required. Participate in both internal and external workgroups and committees as assigned and directed. Perform other duties as assigned and instructed.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education – Minimum
· High school diploma (or equivalent).
Experience – Minimum Demonstrated
· One year of bookkeeping, cash-handling, or accounting experience;
· One year of experience with computer applications, to include Microsoft Office;
· Six months of customer service experience.
Experience – Preferred Demonstrated
· Familiarity with QuickBooks Online accounting software.
· Two years of experience with Microsoft Office programs.
Skills and Abilities
Work in a general office environment. Regular attendance. Attention to detail and accuracy. Organizational and time-management skills. Ability to perform basic math. Remain seated/stand 75% of shift. Finger dexterity/movement for data entry, picking up small objects and utilizing varying office equipment. Hearing for average or normal conversations and to receive information. Sight to view computer, documents, and general office machinery. Verbal and written communication to present, convey and exchange information and ideas accurately and quickly.
