SCOPE OF SERVICES
MyCity is a single portal for all City services and benefits. The vision is a simple, seamless, and intuitive experience interacting with City government digitally. It is designed with New Yorkers at the center of the process to prioritize features by conducting user research. MyCity produces value for New Yorkers, early and often through phased releases. There are several phases within the MyCity portal workstream (Child Care, Business Portal, Workforce Development Services and others). One such phase has been the inclusion of artificial intelligence (MyCity Chatbot) into the platform to enhance New Yorker's ability to leverage the platform. OTI Cyber Command is looking for additional support as the cyber threat landscape continues to evolve and Citywide cybersecurity solutions are deployed in large, complex networked environments. The needed resource skill set is specialized in: working with software development teams to ensure the security and responsible use of AI applications by providing automation guidance at various stages of planning and implementing security design, processes and solutions, and, testing and validation. The resource will have significant interaction with NYC Cyber Command leadership, its engineering, architecture, and application security teams, incident response and other cyber security practitioners.
TASKS:
- Design and implement AI-powered solutions that enhances the security posture of tools across multiple platforms.
- Develop security content for tools and technologies that the Threat Management team relies on to ensure business as usual functioning.
- Design and deploy machine learning models for threat detection, incident response, and security orchestration.
- Integrate innovative and custom technology to improve accuracy of alerts and notifications received by teams within Threat Management.
- Create well documented and clearly articulated code, process and services documentation.
- Understanding REST and SOAP API usage and implementing solutions utilizing APIs from Cyber Command utilized solutions, that enhance detection and response capabilities of the Threat Management.
- Handle special projects and initiatives as assigned.
- Perform various types of tests such as functional testing, regression testing, performance testing, and usability testing to evaluate the behavior and performance of the AI algorithms and models.
Requirements
MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Note: Candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered
- Bachelor?s degree in computer science, electrical or computer engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to leverage REST API?s to build tool and platform integration.
- Proficient in git version control and git life-cycle development.
- 8 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity or information security and Python development.
- Demonstrated ability to write test scripts, automate test cases, and analyze test results using programming languages and testing frameworks.
- Ability to work independently to learn new technologies, methods, processes, frameworks/platforms, and systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate challenging technical concepts to both lay and expert audiences.
- Ability to stay updated on the latest developments, trends, and best practices in both software testing and artificial intelligence.
DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail in an everchanging environment.
- Understanding of public cloud platforms and experience with utilizing platforms such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.
- Experience working in a security environment and/or supporting security teams from a technical standpoint.
- Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team environment.
