Overview
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Design Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will support our design projects through various stages, from conceptualization to execution. This role requires a strong understanding of design principles and proficiency in industry-standard software. As a Design Assistant, you will collaborate with the principal designer and contribute to innovative solutions that meet client needs.
Duties
- Assist in the development of design concepts and presentations using tools such as Power Point, AutoCad, Excel.
- Create detailed spreadsheets for remodeling and renovation projects using Excel software.
- Support lighting design efforts by researching and proposing suitable lighting solutions for various spaces.
- Collaborate with team members to build and refine project designs, ensuring alignment with client specifications.
- Participate in site visits to gather information and assess project requirements.
- Maintain organized project files and documentation throughout the design process.
- Contribute to brainstorming sessions, offering fresh ideas and perspectives on design challenges.
Skills
- Proficiency in organizational skills including project budgets and scheduling a must.
- Strong knowledge of lighting design principles and applications.
- Experience with remodeling, renovation, or construction projects is preferred.
- Familiarity with CAD software for creating technical drawings, for verifying quantities, and updating project files to show client changes.
- Competence in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) for graphic design tasks.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
- Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
