The Production Engineer is a key member of our team, responsible for applying technical expertise to resolve complex problems and optimize plant operations. This individual must have a strong understanding of chemical engineering fundamentals and be able to communicate effectively with colleagues across different departments.
Responsibilities:
- Apply EH&S operational requirements to maintain a safe working environment.
- Utilize chemical engineering fundamentals to provide technical advice on operations.
- Optimize daily production to achieve business and plant goals.
- Participate in advanced troubleshooting and coach others to develop similar skills.
- Assist in commissioning new process equipment installations and coordinate minor plant system changes.
- Coordinate and follow up on improvement projects related to production efficiency.
- Provide operational and technical support to project coordinators for large-scale plant system changes.
- Assist in writing and reviewing Unit Operating Procedures.
- Support plant leadership with plant material balances, yields, closures, project design scope, and other necessary tasks to maintain operations.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering
- At least 3 years of plant engineering experience, preferably in manufacturing/plant operation in a Chlor-Alkali, bleach production facility, or experience with chlorine scrubbers.
