What are the responsibilities and job description for the Information Security Analyst position at K2 Services?
Summary:
The Information Security Analyst will provide support in the day-to-day operational aspect of system security designs, policies, and solutions. They will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and dispositioning security logs and alerts to detect and respond to security events incidents. The Security Analyst will participate on project teams across the business and will also assist in achieving enterprise information security objectives in support of the core security functions of the Information Security department.
Responsibilities:
· Monitor and analyze security logs and alerts to detect potential security incidents and respond accordingly.
· Monitor vulnerability scanning reports and coordinate remediation with cross-functional teams.
· Troubleshoot, resolve, or escalate Information Security helpdesk tickets that have been assigned.
· Assist with the development, implementation, and management of security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
· Participate in regular security assessments and audits of the organization's systems and networks to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend remediation plans.
· Collaborate with Security Engineers and the IT department to design, implement, and maintain security controls and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption systems.
· Manage the security awareness training and phishing simulation program for employees and other stakeholders to promote a culture of security within the organization.
· Develop technical documentation and assist with the creation of operational runbooks and guides.
· Performs other duties as requested.
Requirements and skills:
· Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security, or a related field preferred.
· Knowledge of security principles, practices, and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption systems.
· Ability to analyze security logs and alerts to detect and respond to potential security threats.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders.
· Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work tasks
· Attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
· Industry-standard certifications such as ISC Certified in Cybersecurity or CompTIA Security are beneficial
· Ability to travel up to 5%.
