K9s For Warriors is the nation’s largest provider of service dogs to veterans suffering from the invisible wounds of war, such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Our unique, in-house program helps change the lives of American heroes by pairing them with a battle buddy, who was likely a rescue dog and then teaching him or her to utilize that dog to mitigate the symptoms of their wounds. Summary/Objective
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Station Dog Program, the Support K9 Administrative Specialist’s primary function is to conduct administrative support for the day-to-day functions of the Station Dog Program. This position will be responsible for providing administrative support, scheduling and coordinating services, and communicating with partner organizations participating in the Station Dog Program.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
The Support K9 Administrative Specialist is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing may be required. This position would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and to bend or to stand on a stool as necessary. This role also requires walking, standing for interim periods of time to communicate in person with the first responders or other representatives of partner agencies.

- Communicate with partner organizations to gain their support and attendance at local and regional events
- Communicate and coordinate with various departments within K9s For Warriors
- Establish effective working relationships with partner agencies across the country to assist in program development, identify issues requiring additional training services, and/or coordinate follow-up care by training staff
- Coordinate the scheduling of dog placements with agencies, to include logistics for canine and training staff
- Maintain current and accurate data in the internal database
- Provide administrative assistance for special projects, including research initiatives, legislative development, and accreditation/training standard development

Qualifications And Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Knowledge of the first responder community and issues regarding serving clients from this community
- Experience working in the first responder community
- Ability to exercise discretion with sensitive information
- Ability to pass a background check to enter secure government facilities
- Experience working in customer service or professional compliance field preferred
- Strong verbal, written, and oral communication skills
