Job Summary :
The Laboratory Manager performs laboratory analysis on received specimens, supporting clinical decision-making in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. This role is responsible for ensuring the overall quality, efficiency, and safety of the laboratory's operations.
Essential Functions :
- Adhere to quality assurance guidelines for testing procedures, documenting corrective actions when needed.
- Prepare reagents, maintain inventory, and manage materials to minimize waste and expenses.
- Use clinical judgment to assess priorities, troubleshoot, and resolve testing issues.
- Assist with procedure reviews and revisions, ensuring compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements (e.g., CAP, TJC, OSHA).
- Communicate shift-to-shift issues impacting patient care or departmental operations.
- Participate in staff meetings, task forces, and competency assessment programs.
