Entry level weld and fabricate with care and quality. Understands techniques and takes directions from senior welders and supervisors. Ability to read blueprints and understand quality requirements.
Responsibilities
Kadant Solutions, based in Auburn, Massachusetts, develops, manufactures, and markets a wide range of doctoring, cleaning, filtration, and forming systems and related consumables used in process industries worldwide including construction roofing materials, food processing, metals processing, nonwovens, pulp and paper, textiles and fibers, and tissue.

Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent-Trade School Diploma preferred. Two years of hands-on welding experience. Inclusive of technical education. Must be able to become certified by AWS within 2 years from date of hire or date of transfer. Experience with the methods and devices to lift heavy irregularly shaped objects.
Knowledge: Basic shop mathematics, able to read basic blue prints, understands order of operations and good manufacturing practices.
Skill: Able to correctly use and read basic measuring tools (i.e. Vernier Calipers, tape measure and scale). Ability to control the process to hold specified tolerances. Verbal and written communication skills to convey information within the organization. Ability to solve practical manufacturing problems with little guidance. Basic computer sills (i.e. data entry, editing, searching). Ability to organize and prioritize daily tasks.
Physical/Environmental Demands: Lifing requirements can be on a repetitive basis and above average causing fatigue. Requires normal mental and visual awareness. Periodically exposed to hazards of a serious nature requiring care in the use of production equipment. Follows safe work practices and the use of personal protective equipment.

Responsibilities
- Work with direction, layout, set-up and fabrication/welding of product.
- Must be able to process Tig & Fluxcore welding.
- Assemble product as required in various departments.
- Responsible for producing and inspecting product to ensure it is within specifications.
- Must be able to become certified by AWS within 2 years from date of hire or date of transfer.
- Performs basic machine maintenance as instructed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Fully responsible for the quality of their own work.
- Comply with all company safety policies, procedures and practices.
- Must be a team player and participate in efforts to achieve department and company goals.
- Work overtime as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
