What are the responsibilities and job description for the RO Operator position at KAGOME INC?
JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY
Produce’s RO puree by managing equipment, systems and product attributes.
Support the review, understanding and compliance of all programs, policies and procedures contained in the Food Safety and Quality Management System. Understand that I am responsible for reporting food safety issues observed so appropriate action can be taken. Actively participate and support the 5S and MES initiatives when applicable. Safety is the highest priority of the job activity and will ensure that it will always be the top of mind.

Follows approved procedures receiving raw material from extractor to heat exchanger and transfers to RO unit producing an RO puree product. Performs production/CIP changeovers and checks equipment and systems while in operation. |

Monitors product temperature through pasteurization checking brix every hour. |

Performs preventative maintenance as prescribed in equipment operation manuals and performs other duties at RO or main plant as needed or assigned by superior.

POSITION DIMENSIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Internal Contacts:
RO supervisor, lead person, maintenance personnel, RO crew, Quality team and other Kagome team members.

Education Level and Focus:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Years and Type of Related Experience Required:
Food processing experience in a technically advanced facility
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Interpersonal and Communication:
Ability to function with minimal supervision, including the capacity to learn and follow processing-CIP and sanitation procedures-safety rules and other directives. Ability to speak and write English
Technical and Analytical:
Basic math skills, process equipment problem solving aptitude, mechanical aptitude, ability to learn how to operate a forklift, ability to learn how to adjust equipment through control panel.
Administrative and Operations:
Aptitude for detailed documentation of the process activities including down time and RO brix, RO product temperature
Physical Demands:
Agile, standing for long periods of time, bending, reaching, lifting 50 lbs, climbing stairs, ability to work various shifts
Work Environment:
Food plant, high noise levels, subject to cold, hot and humid conditions, wet floors, forklift traffic and exposure to wet and dry cleaning agents
Special Equipment Used:
RO unit, Heat exchangers, High-pressure wash station and Hot water station.
