Kahala Nui, considered Hawaii's premier Senior Living Community, is looking for a Director of Environmental Services to join our team!
The Director of Environmental Services is responsible for the overall leadership and management of both Housekeeping and Facilities Maintenance, including renovations and capital projects functions. This position plays a key role in ensuring that the senior living community remains clean, safe, well-maintained, and aligned with regulatory standards.
In alignment with the values of mālama—to care for, protect, and preserve—the Director is expected to foster a culture of respect, accountability, and service. The role requires professionalism, technical competence, strong leadership, and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with residents, associates, and external partners.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma and Technical degree in a related field required. Bachelor’s degree in engineering field preferred.
- Five years’ previous maintenance supervision experience required.
- Working knowledge of machinery, tools, repair techniques, plumbing and related repair.
- Previous experience with HVAC, electrical systems, phone systems, fire panels, emergency response systems, and disaster preparedness required.
- Proficient in the use of computer programs, preferably MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Proof of annual tuberculosis clearance in accordance with state regulations.
- Must be available to work varied schedules including weekends and holidays.
