SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN (Union Role)

The Systems Technician is responsible for the Installation and Service of Fire Alarm, CCTV, Intrusion, Access Control, Network Cabling, Coax, DAS, and Audio Visual.

The Systems Technician is responsible for the Installation and Service of Fire Alarm, CCTV, Intrusion, Access Control, Network Cabling, Coax, DAS, and Audio Visual.
- Essential Functions
- Must have 3 years' experience with the Installation and Service of Fire Alarms, CCTV, Intrusion, Access Control, Network Cabling, Coax, DAS, and Audio Visual.
- Must be able to pull cable, install devices, trouble shoot problems and test with the AHJ for Fire Alarms (all manufacturers).
- Proficient knowledge of installation and program of vendor/customer NVR residential and commercial application for Network Video Recorders.
- Proficient knowledge of Intrusion Alarms.
- Proficient in cable installation, including termination of both coax and data ends for I.P and Analog Video Surveillance Cameras.
- Must be proficient in the installation of all equipment readers, door position switches, REX motion and buttons for Access Control.
- Must be able to install, and trouble shoot system in the event of a Nurse Call.
- Proficient knowledge of copper/fiber network cabling and pull cabling a must.
- Must have the ability to terminate jacks, terminate patch panels, build IDF and MDF rooms per prints and test with Fluke instruments.
- Adhere to all quality and safety codes; OSHA 10 is required (OSHA 30 preferred)
- Desired Qualifications
- 3 years Fire Alarm experience
- 3 years Network Cabling experience
- 3 years Installation experience
- Ability to install various types of raceway and cable tray systems desired.
- OSHA 10 is required (OSHA 30 preferred)
- Basic Electrical knowledge is preferred.
- Ability to read and follow electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals is preferred.
- Must demonstrate familiarity with electrical equipment and hand tools.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and with minimal structure while exercising great judgment.
- Present himself/herself in a professional manner.
- A valid driver's license, without restrictions, is required.
