Ecommerce Specialist

We’re looking for an Ecommerce Specialist/ Web Developer who’s passionate about ecommerce web design and development. In this role, you’ll be involved in building and maintaining websites, ensuring they’re visually appealing, user-friendly, and fully functional across all devices and browsers.

Key Responsibilities:

• UI & Cross-Browser Compatibility: Understand and implement user interfaces that work seamlessly across different browsers and devices.
• Web Applications & Programming: Utilize various web applications and programming languages to develop websites that meet modern standards.
• Code Writing: Write clean, efficient code for website functionality, layout, and design.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members to determine the website’s layout, content, and overall design, ensuring a cohesive final product.
• Multimedia Integration: Integrate graphics, audio, and video elements into websites, enhancing user experience.
• Application Development & Testing: Create and rigorously test web applications to ensure functionality and performance.
• Website Traffic Monitoring: Monitor website traffic and make necessary adjustments to improve performance and user engagement.
• Website Maintenance: Regularly update and maintain websites by removing expired content, building landing pages, and ensuring a user-friendly experience.
• Website Planning: Develop website plans that meet organizational needs, ensuring compliance with policies, standards, and security protocols.
• Quality Control: Perform quality control assessments to ensure websites meet ADA compliance and other standards.
• Website Production: Create and edit website pages, menus, forms, plugins, and other WordPress modules to keep the website fresh and functional.
• Design Testing & Improvement: Continuously test and improve the design of the website to enhance user experience and meet evolving needs.
• Feature Integration: Incorporate new functionalities and features into websites, ensuring they align with user needs and project goals.
• Research & Optimization: Conduct research on new apps and tools to optimize the website for an improved customer experience.

Qualifications:

1. E-commerce Background: Previous experience working with online retail platforms, understanding of the eCommerce industry.
2. Project Management Skills: Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks or projects in a fast-paced environment.
3. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for resolving website issues and improving the customer experience.
4. Attention to Detail: Ensuring that every feature works as intended, with pixel-perfect accuracy in design and functionality.
5. Communication Skills: Ability to effectively collaborate with designers, marketing teams, and company owners to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
6. Time Management: Efficiently handling deadlines, especially during peak retail seasons or launches.
7. Customer Experience Focused: Ensuring that all site improvements align with enhancing the overall user experience.
8. Mobile Optimization: Experience with optimizing websites for mobile and responsive design techniques.

1. Experience with Shopify: Basic knowledge in developing, managing, and maintaining Shopify stores.
2. Shopify Theme Customization: Knowledge of Liquid, Shopify’s templating language, to modify or build custom themes.
3. HTML/CSS & JavaScript: Knowledge of  front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery for customizing Shopify themes and templates is a plus..
4. App Development & Integration: Experience with Shopify apps, understanding how to install, configure, and create custom solutions.
5. SEO & Analytics Knowledge: Understanding of SEO best practices, website speed optimization, and working with tools like Google Analytics to track performance.
6. UX/UI Design: Some knowledge of user experience and interface design principles, optimizing for mobile and desktop.
7. Version Control (Git): Familiarity with version control systems like Git for collaboration and managing code changes.
8. Testing & Debugging: Ability to test and debug websites to ensure performance and functionality across devices.
9. Shopify Plus Knowledge: Experience with Shopify Plus (if applicable), including custom scripts and larger scale eCommerce projects.

1. Marketing Tools Integration: Knowledge of email marketing, CRM tools, and social media integration with Shopify.
2. Inventory & Order Management Systems: Experience integrating Shopify with inventory and order management systems.
3. Payment Gateways & Security: Understanding of secure payment processing and familiarity with Shopify’s checkout system.
